Who’s Gonna Talk to Dinah? – Fiddle Tune a Day – Day 339

I first heard Who’s Gonna Talk to Dinah at The Grand Lake National Fiddle Contest, when Junior Marriot and Alita Weisgerber (then Stoneking) played it to win the Twin Fiddle Division at the Contest. As a side note, Fred Stoneking recorded Who’s Gonna Talk to Dinah? on his album Saddle Old Spike. I highly recommend getting this album.

It’s one cool tune, and it’s a great tune to play twin. I worked out the twin myself with Junior Marriott at the hotel breakfast table the morning after  the contest.

Since Junior wasn’t available, and I really wanted to play this tune, I am playing it with the only Missouri Fiddler in Fort Collins, and a heck of a good guy to make music with, Bob Zuellig.

We are at the Old Time Music Jam at the Tap and Handle, and Chip Belcher is joining us on guitar. Special thanks to Eric David for manning the video camera.

I don’t have any information on the origin of this tune beyond Fred Stoneking, so if you have any additional information, I would love to hear it.
