Hi, I’m Vi Wickam and this is another [my] Talent Forge Quick Tip of the Week!
You will do what you make time for.
I have heard so many times students say, “Well, I just didn’t have any time to practice last week.” And I always cut them slack because they choose what they do with their time.
We’re all busy, there’s always a 100 things pulling at us… There’s always 100 hundred things to do, we all have giant to-do lists.
And, we still wake up everyday, and eat breakfast, and eat lunch, and eat dinner. At least most of us do most of the time.
We all go to sleep and sleep for some number of hours every night.
Whatever we decide to get done that day is what we end up getting done.
So, making a decision that I will practice, I will get my instrument out, and I will play – is one of the most powerful and important things you can do.
Decide that you are going to play. Not that, “I’ll play if I have time…” Decide – “This is the time I’m going to play! I will make time for my instrument! And I will be a player.”
And that’s your Quick Tip for this week.
If you make time, the time will be there!
