It was June 2011, and I was on my way from North Carolina to Austin Texas to participate in the Musician’s Round Table at Wizard Academy. We arrived in Atlanta around 8:30PM, and it was raining.
After unloading our car in the loading zone at the hotel, I found a nearby parking lot, and paid the price for one day of parking.
The next morning, we got up to drive the next leg of our trip, to New Orleans. We walked a couple of blocks to the parking lot and ther was a boot on our car, with instructions to call a number and pay $75.00 if we wanted to drive the car again.
I was so furious. The sign said nothing about a starting time and ending time for the parking. There was no attendant (either at night or in the morning.) Even thinking about it now, I’m a little bit angry.
So, I called the number, and paid the ransom, and while waiting for the Parking man to arrive, I wrote “The Parking Man Cometh”. Hopefully this song will earn me $75.00 to make it worth getting hijacked by those parking Nazis.
I like! Is that standard tuning?
It would be rather difficult to determine who had more enjoyment, you cat or I! I also soaked up your tale of whoa, but realized what a brilliant ending it has, since this fine tune blossomed as a result! Thank you, Vi!
I had to get my $75 worth. 🙂
I know this is a SUPER late reply, but Parking Man Cometh is in standard tuning. 🙂
Your cat is so cute. My Chihuahua runs into the music room when I tell her we're going to play the fiddle. The squirrels outside even hang around the window to hear. lol Animals love music.
Great song out of bad trouble. Good deal.
She is pretty cute. You know it's good when a cat will tolerate it. 😉 Dogs tend to enjoy more. Squirrels! Now that takes it to a whole new level.
Really, what else could I do?
Lovely musical performance !
Incidentally, you should have called the police on this matter.
There should have been a sign posted indicating exactly how
long was the parking fee you paid valid for.
ie: The start time and the end time should have clearly been shown
on your parking receipt, otherwise you should have not have to
pay to get the boot removed, and on top of that your original
parking fee that you paid should have been refunded as well.
You could have also asked the parking lot administration to pay
for your lost time as well, say at the rate of $1,000.00 per hour.
That would wake up those shady parking lot operators.

I thought about it. Those guys were pretty shady. It will catch up with them in the end. Fiddle on!
