Today is April 22. Some of you may know it as Earth Day, which it is. And, it’s my girlfriend, Christina’s birthday. As such, I thought it was fitting to play a song that I wrote for her. She is of Romanian and Jewish heritage, and we have joked about how there has been no group as persecuted as the Gypsy Jews.
One day, as I started my practice, I was thinking about what a Gypsy Jewish song would sound like – a little bit of the Gypsy Hora, and a little Klezmer harmonic minor scale. This is what I came up with…
Happy Birthday, Christina!
Beautiful musical performance !
Thanks, Michael. It's good to be inspired.
You are inspired. This definitely has the "flavor" of both. Nice writing and nice playing.
Thanks, Francis. It's good to have a muse. 🙂
