[The tune I play at the beginning of this Quick Tip is called Road to Lisdoonvarna. Listen to it here.]
Hi everybody, Vi Wickam here with another Quick Tip of the Week.
This week I want to give a shoutout to YayLife.com, who gave me this awesome Yay Fiddle t-shirt. I am totally stoked about this. Thank you Carl, thank you Rachelle. I love it! You guys are awesome!
Now for the Quick Tip of the Week- Rotate Your Repertoire.
What you heard there was a little E minor jig I played- The Road to Listdoonvarna. I don’t always play jigs, but mixing it up is something that keeps things fun.
So if you like playing breakdowns a lot, maybe take a break and play a waltz.
Maybe instead of playing the tunes I know, I can step out of my comfort zone a little bit and play a tune I haven’t played in a long time.
Play a tune that I don’t play regularly, because variety is the spice of life.
So Rotate Your Repertoire! Don’t get stuck in a rut! Break the bonds of the rut by rotating. Find some new tunes, learn new tunes, or go back to those old tunes, mix it up, bring them back into your routines that you’re comfortable playing…
And have fun with it!
I’ll see you next time. Have a great week!

Thanks, for this reminder, Vi. I love the feelings I get when I pay attention to the wisdom you are bringing me. I thought this morning that my routine was getting boring. Now you’ve knocked me over so I can rotate repetoire.

You’re welcome, Jim! Fiddle on!
Thanks,
Vi
