Description
This instrument has GREAT Tone! And, it’s a boomer.
I have done quite a bit of research and haven’t been able to find out much about HA Tornblom. Tornblom is a Swedish name, so I’m guessing that he was a Swedish immigrant. The workmanship on this violin is excellent. The finish work is fine including painted edging on the scroll and in the f-holes. The modeling is a Stradivarius Grand Pattern, and the sound is big just like its modeling. The back is a beautiful flamed 2-piece maple, with matching sides and neck. The scroll is strong, without being heavy. The varnish is all original with the exception of a couple of spots where it has been touched up due to wear.
The workmanship on this violin is excellent. I would call it a master-made instrument. The varnish is a soft oil-varnish that is a light reddish-yellow in color. There is varnish wear on the treble bout of the violin near the neck as happens when someone plays it in position for a lot of hours over time. There is a little bit of damage to the side in this area as well that has been repaired nicely. Additionally there is a small crack from the treble f-hole to the c-bout that is repaired and structurally sound. There are also a couple of hairline cracks that are on the top near the neck block. They are repaired and not a concern.
This violin is in Excellent condition, and is a professional caliber instrument that is a joy to play.
