Hi, I’m Vi Wickam, and this is another [my] Talent Forge Quick Tip of the Week!
This tip involves how you approach your practice time. And it involves really how you play, in general.
When you practice, you need to practice like you mean it!
You need to practice like you want to play when you’re preforming, when you’re playing on stage, when you’re playing in front of your friends, or with your friends.
You need to bring that same spirit, that same focus, that same intention to your practice.
So, I look at this like playing it like you mean it, or practicing like you mean it. Practicing with intention.
When I practice, I want to bring that same focus, that same level of intensity, and that same level of listening to my music when I’m practicing.
Even if I’m playing very simple scales or bowing exercises, it’s really easy to get into auto pilot mode. Auto pilot mode gets you nowhere in your practice.
Focus and practice with intention will take you everywhere!
And that’s your Quick Tip this week!
