[The song I play at the beginning of this Quick Tip is called Darktown Strutter’s Ball, which was one my grandma’s favorite tunes].
Hey everybody, Vi Wickam here with another Quick Tip of the Week.
This week I want to encourage you to get out there and play some music for some people who will really appreciate it.
Get out there and play at a nursing home or a senior center. This is something that you can do to bring joy to some people that may not get visitors very often.
You can bring some live music to people who are really going to appreciate it. Especially, these old-time fiddle tunes, and rag time, and swing songs- these people love this music.
Not only that, but you get an opportunity to get out there and play your music in a very low-risk situation. These people are going to love the music you play, even if you make a mistake!
They aren’t going to be judging you, they’re just going to be enjoying the music.
So, take a chance. Get yourself out there into the world. It’s much more fun to make a connection on a human level, than it is to just sit in your bedroom and practice.
Take an opportunity to get out, play at a nursing home or senior center, and bring some joy to some people who are really going to appreciate it!
And that’s your Quick Tip for this week. I’ll see you next time!
