Hi everybody! Vi Wickam here for myTalentForge.com and this is another Quick Tip of the Week!
The Quick Tip is… that your mindset and your body are connected.
Now, that may sound a little “airy-fairy”, or a little weird. But the idea is that if I’m tense in my brain, if I’m thinking about things that make me anxious, my body will become tight.
If I have tension in my body, that facilitates my brain becoming anxious.
This doesn’t have to work in that way of it feeding on itself and being an endless loop of getting worse and worse. You can turn it the other direction!
You can do this by slowing down and consciously relaxing your body.
Consequently, when you relax your body, your mind will slow down as well.
A great exercise for this- it’s one of our free lessons on myTalentForge.com, is the 5-Minute Bow Exercise taught by Dr. David Wallace.
If you haven’t tried it yet, give it a try. I highly encourage it. Watch that connection – if you feel tension in your body, let it go. If you feel tension in your mind, try focusing on something that’s calming and relaxing, and your body will relax as well.
That’s your Quick Tip of the Week- see you next time!
