Hi this is Steve Eulberg with another Quick Tip with [my] Talent Forge.
Sometimes when I’m playing barre chords, I find that there’s a string that just isn’t playing very straight. I’m not hearing it.
So what I do to test the sound is I push my finger really hard against the strings in the place that I would be playing my barre.
And then I look at my fingers. Often what happens is one of those strings is landing right in the crease of my finger. That’s why I’m not hearing it… because at the place that my finger is the smallest, I have to push down.
That means that I have to adjust my finger so that the meat of my finger is covering the strings that I want to hear.
