Hi, I’m Steve Eulberg here from myTalentForge with a Quick Tip.
When you’re playing barre chords – that’s a lot! You’re covering all 6 strings with your hand.
Sometimes people are trying to get everything right and they want to look at everything they’re doing. And it just takes a long time to get to the chord.
Here’s what I do. I make sure to get the barre down first, and then I use the other 3 fingers as a cluster.
So if I’m playing a major cluster in the E shape – I take what would be an E shape here, and I get used to lifting all 3 fingers off and dropping them at the same time.
Then I put the barre down first, then I put the cluster down following that. And then I get to putting them all down at the same time.
So break it up into little chunks, add one piece at a time. And see if that doesn’t help you!
