Musicians! Ingredients for Success – Julie Lyonn Lieberman – myTalentForge Livestream Workshop
March 20 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm MDT$25
Exclusive livestream workshop with Julie Lyonn Lieberman: multi-style, ergonomically based acoustic/amplified performer and educator
When we fly, we don’t use mileage as a standard of measurement. But musicians tend to use the wrong standards of measurement around how they build and define success. This can lead to feeling discouraged and subsequently halt or delay progress. When you play an instrument, you form a relationship with it akin to a friendship. And some of us spend more time with our instrument than our friends or significant other.
Would you want to date or marry someone who makes you feel bad about yourself? Assuming your answer is “no,” what about your relationship with your instrument?
We will examine musical success as it applies to how you practice, what you think and feel while practicing, how you judge your rate of improvement, how you go about shaping and defining the musical friendships and collaborations you develop, as well as how you experience and define your professional standing in the world—if you’re playing professionally.
Whether your relationship to music-making feels oppressive or you just want to tweak your progress, Julie will provide new ideas and tools. Her goal is to support your musical health and your ability to manifest your musical passions in a fulfilling and joyful manner.
March 20, 2021 – 2:00PM MST
