Enjoy the Silence – Quick Practice Tip

Hi I’m Vi Wickam, and this is another myTalentForge.com Quick Tip.

Enjoy the silence.

This is another Quick Tip that is in my realm of discomfort. I have a tendency to be listening to things all the time.

I listen to music. I listen to podcasts. I listen to more music. I play music. I’m listening while I’m playing.

But recently, I just got a new phone. And in getting that new phone, a couple weeks ago, I still haven’t set up my podcast app.

My normal thing I would do is when I would go on a dog walk, I would go walk our dog… I would throw on a podcast, and listen to it, and learn something new. Which was good! There was nothing wrong with that.

But I’ve discovered a new joy in walking the dog without listening to something else going on the whole time.

I’m learning- this is an ongoing thing, I haven’t fully embraced this all the time. But I’m learning to enjoy the quiet.

Learning to enjoy walking the dog when it’s quiet outside, and just being with myself, and being with my thoughts. And not having to be learning something or listening to music and just enjoying the silence.

And that’s your Quick Tip for the week. Take time- enjoy the silence!

P.S. Here’s a picture of Abby, my dog. She’s pretty great!

Exactly. It’s a refreshing rest from all the sounds of a busy world.
If you pay attention to the sounds around you in nature you will discover the music in it also.
There has been much music written about the music of nature–such as water, wind, and birds.
