I had the pleasure recently of being interviewed by Artie “King Hammer” Martello on his WIOX radio show, The Catskills Cafe. If you don’t happen to live in upstate New York, and couldn’t catch it live over the airwaves, Artie graciously posts his interviews up to mixcloud for sharing.
We really had a lot of fun chatting, and I learned more about Artie’s uncle who played fiddle in vaudeville shows. Getting to chat with Artie is always a pleasure!
Here are some photos that Artie Shared with me of his uncles fiddle. If you look closely, you can see that there are some autographs scratched in the back. One of them belongs to Babe Ruth!
Here are is Uncle Louie’s Promo Photo for his performing, and a promo photo for a band he played in called Zeb Carber and His Country Cousins. They are classic!
Uncle Louie’s promo photo reminds me of this video of the great trick fiddler, Willie Hall.

Artie featured lots of music from Swinging at the Savoy on his show, for which I am very thankful.
