Hi I’m Vi Wickam and this is another myTalentForge.com Quick Tip of the Week!
The audience is rooting for you!
Now, people often think when they’re getting on stage and doing a performance, they’re going to play music in front of people… They often think, “Well the audience is looking for me to screw up. They’re looking to hear the mistakes in my playing.”
The truth is – the audience is rooting for you, the audience wants you to succeed, the audience wants you to have an experience of playing beautiful music because what do you think they want to hear?
They want to hear your beautiful music! That’s why they showed up!
They showed up to encourage you and to root you on and to cheer you on to creating great music.
So, when you get in the mindset of thinking, “They want me to screw up.” Turn that on its head because that is just a lie you’re telling yourself.
That’s a story you’re making up that is not true in the least.
That audience wants you to nail it.
So, the next time, you think they don’t- just remember, the audience is there because they want to enjoy spending time with you, and they want you to succeed, and they are rooting for you.
That’s your myTalentForge.com Quick Tip of the Week! See you next time!
