June 6, 7, 8, 2013, the place to be is the Grand Lake National Fiddle Fest in Grove OK! Spread the word, it’s a great area for a family vacation, and you could go home with enough prize money to pay for your trip!
Nationally certified, with five judges: Marty Elmore, TX; Mark Ralph, AL; Louis Brandin, LA; Dale Morris and Tobie Morris, TX. Alternate judges are Wayne Head, OK; Junior Marriott, MO; and Vi Wickam from CO. That’s a super line-up! Nationally sanctioned competitions, just for fun contests, stage performances, air-conditioned comfort by day in the Civic Center and lots of fun jamming, lakeside barbecue dinners, in the evenings at the host campground.
Some of the workshops are offered this year are: Fiddle, Dale Morris; Back-up Guitar, Rex Gillentine; Flatpick Guitar, Jim Garling; Mandolin, Russ Weeks; Spoon/Bones, Barry Patton, Gary Stout, and Shirley Adams; Children’s Worshop – Sydni Coleman.
