Opening for April Verch – Avogadro’s Number

I am totally stoked for this weekend because I have the opportunity to be the opening act for The April Verch Band this Sunday night at Avogadro’s Number in Fort Collins, CO.

April Verch is one of the top Canadian Fiddlers, and she’s a heck of a stepdancer too. I am sure that you will enjoy her playing.

I am so excited to be opening for such a talented musician. I hope you all can come to see April Play (and me too).

Devil’s Dream – For those of us who don’t like Devil’s Dream

I’m not usually a fan of Devil’s Dream, but I can think of two people who play it pretty awesome.

The first is Jana Jae who plays Devil’s Dream so fast that fire flies from the strings. The second is the one I heard today – Jean Carignan.

This is a truly amazing version of Devil’s Dream, or as they call it in French Reve du Diable.

Fiddling Master Class at UE

Donna Hebert FiddlerCome one, come all. The University of Evansville is featuring renowned fiddler Donna Hébert as a guest artist.

4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Wheeler Concert Hall

Krannert Hall of Fine Arts

Admission: Free – no reservation necessary
Open to all string players, guitarists, banjo and mandolin players, and anyone who just wants to watch.

Guest Artist: Donna Hébert

Donna is in Indiana as a Judge for the 2008 Indiana State Picking and Fiddling Championships.

In addition to the Thursday Master Class at UE, there will be a Fiddling Workshop at the Contest site in Petersburg Indiana at 3:00 EST.
