When I saw that Sandra Wong was coming to Fort Collins tonight to play at Avogadro’s Number, it was an opportunity not to be missed for Fiddle Tune a Day, especially since she was going to be joined by Ross Martin Guitarist for the Matt Flinner Trio, and Greg Harris who plays Vibes for Pete Wernick’s Live Five.
They played a great show, and after the show came the real fun. Sandra and I spent more time preparing this tune (a Natalie MacMaster tune called Mother Nature – not to be confused with Mother Earth which is not a Natalie MacMaster tune) than I have spent on possibly any other fiddle tune a day recording. We probably spent 20 or maybe even 30 minutes working out this tune, and the harmony! I know it’s hard to believe, but it’s the truth.
And, I think our hard work paid off. This is one of my favorite FTAD posts so far. Let me know what you think in a comment below.
One more thing, Natalie was kind enough to post sheet music to this tune for those of you who are interested here: http://www.nataliemacmaster.com/tunes/truly/MotherNature.pdf
