WNIN Public Radio took a moment to interview my fiddle student, Cameron Vaughn, about his 2nd place finish in the Indiana State Picking and Fiddling Championships in the Jr. Jr. Age Division. Cameron also fiddles a little bit on air.
They also spent a little time talking with me about fiddling. Cameron did a great job at the contest, and I’m very proud of him.

I have been playing with Chrome most of the day, and I think that Chrome is wonderfully fast, but there is a serious issue with the Chrome EULA that needs to be addressed before I will make it my primary browser.
I hope that Google addresses this EULA issue soon, because I do like the clean layout, and responsiveness of Chrome.
Also after reading the Chrome Comic, I really like what they have done in the background with precise garbage collection, and multithreaded rendering. Overall, the product is pretty brilliant, but they really need to fix the EULA.
I sit here typing this blog post using the new browse that Google just released. I must say that I am quite impressed so far.
The internet is abuzz and with good reason. It is the fastest loading easiest to use browser that I have used so far. I will comment again after using it for a while, but at this point I’m impressed.
It’s open source and rebuilt from the ground up with today’s web applications in mind.
The 2008 Indiana State Picking and Fiddling Championship was held last weekend at the Pike County Fairgrounds in Petersburg, Indiana.
The event was well attended with 79 contestants in 17 divisions. Contestants came from Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Illinois, and Missouri to compete.
Outstanding performances by Maddie Denton and Robert Bowlin made quite statement. Maddie brought home the Grand Championship, the Hot Fiddle Category, and the Accompanist Award, while Robert won the Flatpick Guitar, Thumbpick Guitar, and Mandolin Categories.
